Better Credit Score North Texas Attorney

Better Credit Score | North Texas, TX | Attorney Help

The better your credit score, the lower your interest rates, and the better suited you are to get a loan and succeed in securing a home and more.

To improve your credit score, you actually need to check your credit report, which is a different entity, if you didn’t already know. In the same way your body can get a cold, and your temperature will rise to a fever level, if your credit report has bad information, your credit score will drop. Lowering your body temperature may make you feel healthy, but you’re sick once the effects go away.

You need a stable fix, and that’s what I aim to give you with this handy tool for good credit report health.

Weatherford, go to www.annualcreditreport.com, put in your info, and get started on improving your financial health.

1. Check your credit report between every 4 months and 1 year.

While you may not be able to pay off all your debts today, you can check your entire credit report today, and when incorrect or fraudulent information is entered on your report, filing a successful dispute may give your credit score the boost it needs, without having to pay off a credit card or a loan.

Unfortunately, credit reporting agencies aren’t able to catch every mistake. So when mistakes happen, don’t let them happen to you!

As a licensed debt defense attorney, I have years of experience dealing with credit reporting agencies, forcing them to abide by the laws set forth in the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). When I’m in your corner, I’ll fight to ensure that your rights are protected, and at little cost to you.

When you go to look for inaccuracies, double check for stale, reaged, and outdated information, or you could even have someone else’s info merged with your account due to clerical errors. Additionally there may be overinflated balances and incorrect public records. And of course there’s always the potential for identity theft.

You have 7.5 years from the first date of default to correct the amounts, so act now, especially if you’ve found an old discrepancy.

2. Formally dispute any incorrect information.

Since you can only check your credit report every four months at most, it’s important that a small delinquency doesn’t harm your score when it’s not your fault to begin with. Moreover, the sooner you dispute a false claim, the better, because after a number of months it becomes irrelevant, or outside the statute of limitations.

As your experienced attorney, I’ll make sure your case is heard by the CRA’s. I’ve won clients  damages many times, and take pride in defending Texans near and far against crimes committed against them that harm their financial wellbeing.

3. Don’t wait until you need a loan.

When you file your dispute, include all important information, especially about your account and the specific issue. Spell out why the information should be corrected, and a schedule for why, because the dispute will be checked by the CRA and the company you’re disputing. It should be clear on the face of the narrative and your included documents why the disputed information is wrong.

I additionally prefer to draft your dispute letter on my PLLC letterhead. There are other methods to dispute, but this approach gives you a paper trail. Sometimes it solves the problems, other times it sets up a lawsuit.

When you contact me, I’ll guide you through the process, and will even submit a dispute letter for you for just the price of postage. Don’t let another day go by without reaching out and taking advantage of a free consultation.
